Destination Hotel, Orange, Vermont, 2008

Project: Designed as a destination hotel and spa embedded on a small mountain in rural Vermont. By designing this building with natural principles it places the sustainable lifestyle a direct example of design. The site is viewed as a seasonal get away where users can experience hiking, swimming, tennis, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing in an minimally untouched landscape. Utilizing green intensive roofs, geo-thermal heating and cooling, natural ventilation and lighting this project is planned to achieve the highest LEED rating for a hotel.

Site Context: The project sits on the crest of a small mountain situated on 4000 acres of forest.
